How Can severe Numbness In The Arms And Legs Be Treated?

I have been suffering from something in my head and eyes that is causing numbness and weakness in my arms and legs, My eyes burn, my head aches, I get short of breath, I have been to Emergency 4 times and no answers. I have seen a Ortho, Internal, Infectious disease, neurologist, ENT, Pulmonary, Ophthalmologist, and Cardiologist. No one can find out what is wrong. I have been going through this for 8 months now and it is getting worse.

Hello,

Usually this is self limiting and there is no specific cause, but if this persists then various causes for arm numbness may persist like dehydration, diabetes, hypothyroidism, menopause, lack of B complex vitamins.

You may also have nerve compression problems which was suspected in your prior consultations which must have aggravated, however, at what level it varies and needs clinical evaluation, with nerve conduction studies with or without an MRI.

It is very common to get such types of numbness and pain in stress and in the deep anxiety state, however, to be on the safe side, you should consult a doctor and get your cardiac status checked along with other relevant investigations for the causes as mentioned above.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein,
